Twelve Things I Would Like To See Or Do

I have been thinking of the future lately.  More specifically, I have been thinking about my future.  Don't ask me why because I honestly can't tell you.  It's not a mid-life crisis (it's probably too late for that, anyway!)  Nor is it born out of regret for things I have not done to date.  All I can tell you is I simply had a moment of inspiration and felt like listing some things I would like to do or see while the Good Lord keeps me on this earth.

I know that such a list has practically nothing to do with Peace, Justice, or Disability Awareness.  Nevertheless, while these three topics are the stated focus of this blog, I will share my thoughts with the poor soul who chooses to read this.

So here I go:  Twelve Things I would Like To See or Do In The Remainder of My Life.

12.  ... see the day that all cars sold in the United States must, by Federal Law, average at least 100 mpg.

11.  ... visit and experience the Grand Canyon with my wife.

10..  ...lose about 25 pounds and keep it off.

9.  ...build, own and live in a true log home situated on about 2 or 3 acres of land in a country setting in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

8.  ...learn that a cure has been found for Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.

7.  ...see the "land of the midnight sun" while touring Alaska with my wife.

6.  ...be held spellbound by viewing the Aurora Borealis (aka Northern Lights).

5.  ...visit and hike the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania with my wife.  We did this once many, many years ago but I would like to do it again.

4.  ...learn that a cure has been discovered for Autism.

3.  ...see the day that my two sons are once again "best friends".

2.  ...know that my eldest son, who is intellectually and developmentally disabled, is happy, safe, and well-taken care of for the rest of his life.

1.  ...grow in my daily walk with Jesus Christ and learn to trust him more each day.
